If you rely on mobile data to stay up-to-date on your business communications, then establishing which network has the best coverage across the UK is very important. Let’s take a look at why.
Although ‘network coverage’ might just sound like a lot of technical jargon to the less tech-savvy amongst us, it is actually one of the most important things that you should factor in when choosing your perfect provider. This is especially true if you’re looking to ensure that your company communications are kept running smoothly at all times.
Choosing a network with the best UK coverage means being able to access a mobile data signal from pretty much anywhere – and when you have a reliable data signal, you also have reliable access to your business emails, video conferences and more. Read on to find out more about some of the UK’s top providers and establish a little insight into how they compare in terms of overall network coverage.*
Vodafone Network Coverage
Geographical coverage (4G): 82%
Indoor coverage (4G): 95%
Vodafone is a reliable choice in terms of its network coverage across the UK, providing the best 4G coverage in urban areas: 99% outdoors and 98% indoors. If losing signal amidst the hustle and bustle of town or city life is a concern for you, then Vodafone could be the best solution.
The popular provider offer fast 5G connectivity in around 46 urban locations around the UK, as well as in a multiplicity of spots around Europe itself, where you can make use of their all-inclusive roaming bundle in 110 destinations, offered on pay-per-month contracts.
EE Network Coverage
Geographical coverage (4G): 86%
Indoor coverage (4G): 93%
EE have always been a strong contender when it comes to networks offering the best coverage across the UK, being the first operator to boast an 85% figure throughout the United Kingdom.
Rural regions are generally one of the biggest concerns when it comes to mobile data signal, with small chunks of the more rustic spots in the UK still lacking in coverage. EE comes in top in this area, however, offering a reasonable 84% outdoors and 79% indoors.
EE also beat Vodafone by a small margin in terms of 5G connection, providing 50 UK cities and towns with a super-speedy connection.
O2 Network Coverage
Geographical coverage (4G): 80%
Indoor coverage (4G): 93%
O2’s network coverage has come on in leaps and bounds as of late. If you’re a London dweller hunting down the network that has the best coverage across the UK, then you’re in luck – O2’s 5G coverage in London is exceptional, with 64% of the city’s population within reach of lightening-fast data speeds.
Whilst O2 has been historically known more so for their great call and text signal and less for their data coverage, the telecoms giant is gradually gaining traction and offering competitive coverage in urban areas: 99% outdoors and 97% indoors.
